Some support

From Matthew:
Would you like me to post some of these dogs on my website Sheara ?http://dogwalkeravailable.co.uk/classifieds/dogs-for-rehoming

It's nice to know my posts are being read and spread. Thanks to Matthew and Irena that I know have been sharing :)

It is always a good thing to help homeless animals find a new home, and the more people post and share the animals looking for adoption, the higher their chances to find a loving home...

Changes to pet pick

I've been somewhat busy with personal and work life and considering when I work a full shift I leave my house 6:30 am and return home sometimes 22:30, theres times I'm very tired and unable to search pets and pick a pet pick of the day as this might take me time to do and posting from my phone loses the quality of posting on my laptop as I don't have apps for blogger on my model phone.
So there will be a pet pick every week, one time a week rather than daily, with one extra on the weekend. I might possibly change this at a later time to become more regular, however at the moment I also need to balance things in my life also.
I will try to add some variety to compensate by posting on other topics when free.
I apologize for any readers of my blog and hope you can understand.

If anyone finds any pet jobs in London please let me know.

Pet Pick Of The Day - Michelle - Female - Dog - DogTrust - Uxbridge, UB9 6JW

This dog is so cute looking, adorable to say the least...
Wish I could home it but sadly no pets allowed where I'm renting :'(

MICHELLE / Setter: English / Female / 1 to 2 Years / Rehoming Centre: London (Harefield)

Picture of MICHELLE - Image 1

Direct Link: http://www.dogstrust.org.uk/rehoming/dog/1087624/michelle

Likes and dislikes:
Michelle is a special dog that needs a special home. Michelle is a sensitive girl that can take a while getting to know you, so she is looking for patient owners that have plenty of time on their hands. She can be very scared of people that she doesn't know, which can make her react badly to them, so new owners will need to work with her and her confidence to help her become more settled with strangers. She has come along but needs further socialisation that she can only get in the home. She is looking for a committed forever home to help her complete her confidence and teach her the world is not scary. She is an active girl looking for an active family that already has another dog, as this helps her with her confidence and will hopefully help her to settle. She is looking to live in a rural or semi-rural place as she needs to be away from the hustle and bustle of city/town life. With time and patience Michelle will make a great addition to the family that are prepared for hardwork.

Type of home needed:
Michelle is looking for a home with another confident young dog already present, as this will help her settle in. Limited leaving hours as she needs all training, including housetraining, and needs to bond with her owners.

Poetry: What Would You Do?

What would you do?

If you saw someone chained up everyday by someone else?
Would you call the police? Try to intervene?
Or would you pretend the seen was unseen,
Live you life without a care
That you knew someone was suffering so near.

What would you do?

If you knew of someone that was skin and bones?
By no choice of their own
And whilst their family ate quite well
They left them to starve and get ill
Would you report it to someone else? Would you refuse to give up?
Or would you turn a blind eye
Then later deny you knew about it at all.

What would you do?

If you witnessed someone being abused?
Hurt and tormented
Would you take a stand? Take the case till the very end?
Or would you stand by, witnessing from the side, assuming things will turn out fine and someone will eventually resolve it?

What would you do?
If you did nothing at all and later heard of the result
That they lived a miserable life
Nobody to stand by their side
By the time the truth was heard
The story will tell of a small creature
Living a horrible life with an even worse result.
They were now dead
The first time they could have rest
Away from pain and suffering
Away from other so uncaring

What would you do if this was YOU?
Living a life so cruel
Hoping someone would speak the truth
When you were unable to be heard
Hoping everyday was the last, one way or another
That either your be rescued or that you'd never wake
Anything to escape such a dark fate
What would go through your mind?
As others kept turning a blind eye
To all the suffering you had inside

What would you do?

Unfortunately this is a large truth
Many of us refuse to speak up
We see other suffering yet it gets overlooked
Nobody and nothing deserves such a path
Going through live without a single morsel of love

REPORT ABUSE whenever you see it
It might save someone for having to live it
Don't be silent as you can't be bothered to deal with it
Remember its not you having to suffer it
And if it was would you be able endure it?
Think about that before you ignore it.

We all have the right to a decent life
Don't allow abuse to go on
If you see any living being is unwell
Its better to do something than nothing at all
Report to the authorities or relevant organisations
Together we can build better nations

Next time you see someone or something is suffering

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

Don't forget it could have been you!

Poetry: Common Goals

We don't need that much
To be content is our goal
To have a plate of food
And over our heads a roof
A warm bed in which to sleep
And someone in our hearts to keep
A little love and affection is our bonus

You see
We are not that much different you and me
Pets and humans seek similar things
And even if things can't be perfect
We are perfectly happy with the little blessing we get

Weather we are human, mammal, reptile...
All we hope is to be well treated well
A little respect and dignity
And some common sense and decency

When it rains to have shelter
When the sun shines we hope for cover
Not too hot, not to cold
And a comfortable spot to grow old

Poem: Stuck On A Chain

The seasons change
But I remain the same
The same old dog
Stuck to this chain
Nobody knows how I feel
That the only interaction I get is screams
I was once the lovely puppy
Oh so nice, small and cuddly
But as I grew I became ignored
And the children were now bored
There was a time I'd pull and fight
Trying to break the chains that hold me tight
But after years of fighting on
All I won was the look of shame
From the people that barely know my name
Now I don't fight nor do I struggle
For it caused me pain and my owners nicknamed me destruction
All I wanted was a warm bed
And somewhere soft to lay my head
Some people saw me and remarked in pity
But nobody helped or gave me security
The rain will fall and soak me wet
The sun will shine and burn my head
All through the seasons here I shall sit
For I can not talk
So I'll live this hell instead

Poem: A dream of a home

A day or a night
In either I may feel fright
As I hope and dream of a home
I can call my own

The wind will blow and whisper through the leaves
As summer, autumn winter and spring
Pass me by once again
Many new faces I might see
But all of them seem to look through me

I dream of the day someone passes me by
And looks me straight in the eye
They will see more than a stray
They will see a heart hoping for the day
That someone comes and swoops me fast
And find me a warm cosy home at last

Pet Pick Of The Day - Little Buddha - Cat - Celia Hammond - East London, Canning Town, E16 4HQ

LITTLE BUDDHA - PRIORITY!

Little Buddha

Little Buddha arrived with his feral mum when he was really tiny. His mum, Lotus, was untouchable until recently but Little Buddha has always been interested in the world around him and loves people, other cats, dogs and a good stretch.

As little Bhudda grew and made new friends the bond between him and Lotus became less strong. Lotus started to develop her own relationship with her human feeders and Little Buddha would be quite happy being homed without his mum and visa versa.

Buddha is still a kitten and he wants to do kitten things so he really wants a home where he can play and have fun. He is an adorable little boy and would put sunshine into anyone's heart and home.

Pick Of The Day - Hake - Dog - manytearsrescue - Witham Essex ( SPECIAL NEEDS)

HakeStatusAvailable
Name: Hake

Breed: Jack Russell Terrier (JR)

Age: 7 Years

Gender: Male
Location: Witham Essex

08-09-13 Hake is a 7 year old Jack Russell ex stud dog. The farm he came from no longer required him. He has been in the wars at some point and has only half a bottom jaw.  He seems to manage fine with this but it looks a little strange from underneath. He loves cuddles and has really enjoyed all the attention he has been given. He walks a little on a lead but will probably need a little help to learn about house training and a little time to get used to living in a home.  In the circumstances we would consider homing him as an only dog although he is good with the bitch he shares his kennel with and we would be happy to home him with others.
05-10-13 UPDATE

Hake has been in a foster home for two weeks now and the change in him is amazing. He has never lived in a house before but is now completely clean, but I am still reminding him to go out. He was not keen on going for walks in the beginning but now he loves them. He is a tiny bit stiff so he would not be suited to lots of long walks but a plod round the park or even the block would suit him fine. He has come face to face with quite a few cats whilst out walking and totally ignores them. He is brilliant with all dogs he meets both at home and when out walking. He sleeps like a log in his bed all night and does not bark much and never whines. He is not that good at travelling probably because he has never travelled before.
Hake is good with children but his ideal home would be someone who is as lonely as he is and he will snuggle into you on the settee and so be your best friend. He is a very happy fellow and is always wagging his tail and just loves a fuss. The fact that he is missing a part of his bottom jaw is hardly noticeable and does not bother him in the slightest. The only time you get a reaction from him is when he hears a squeak so tiny animals such as rats, mice, guinea pigs etc are a definite no. This boy has had a hard life and he truly is an adorable little cuddle monster that deserves his very own person.
PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information onADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
ADOPTION DETAILS - HAKE IS BY DONATION

Although Hake is by donation rather than the full adoption fee, please make your donation a reasonable one in line with the costs that have been incurred. All our dogs are micro-chipped, have had at least their first inoculation and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. If your application is successful you will be home checked and you, all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the dog you want to adopt.
Please read our ADOPTION PROCEDURES before applying
and then complete the
ADOPTION FORM.
